The Through diamond slot roller shell is a high-performance innovative product among pellet mill accessories, featuring axially continuous diamond-mesh grooves on its working surface that combine the smooth discharge of straight-through slots with the strong material intake capability of inclined slots.
The diamond slot consists of two intersecting sets of inclined channels, forming an alternating pattern of raised diamond-shaped blocks and recessed grooves. During roller rotation, the diamond structure applies multi-directional shearing, kneading, and pushing forces to the material, effectively gripping and forcing difficult-to-process raw materials with long fibers, poor flowability, or certain moisture content—such as straw, rice husks, cotton stalks, and coffee grounds—resulting in significantly improved material intake efficiency.
Unlike closed diamond grooves, the through diamond slot features an axially continuous design with open ends. After pressing, material can be smoothly discharged along the grooves without clogging or buildup. Meanwhile, the continuous structure greatly increases the heat dissipation area on the roller surface, reducing thermal fatigue damage and extending roller service life by 30%–50% compared with traditional closed diamond slot rollers. The multi-directional compression also produces finished pellets with smooth surfaces, high density, and excellent resistance to powdering.
In terms of material, the Through diamond slot roller shell is forged from high-alloy steel or carburized bearing steel (e.g., 20CrMnTi, GCr15), followed by carburizing and overall quenching. The working layer hardness reaches HRC58-62, while the core maintains good toughness, ensuring wear resistance and durability.
The product is compatible with both ring-die and flat-die pellet mills and supports custom sizing of inner hole diameter, keyway, roller width, and diamond slot dimensions according to original specifications, fitting major brands such as CPM, Buhler, Zhengchang, and Muyang.
