The through diamond slot roller shell is a high-performance design of pellet mill roller, featuring a surface with diamond-shaped or rhombus-like through grooves. This groove pattern combines the radial gripping capability of straight slots with the axial distribution characteristics of oblique slots, forming a unique bidirectional compression and material conveying network. The sharp corner edges of the diamond slots provide multi-point shearing and kneading action, making this roller particularly suitable for difficult-to-pellet materials with high fiber content, high hardness, or low flowability, such as hard wood chips, bamboo powder, palm fiber, and certain mineral powders.

Compared to through straight slot or through oblique slot roller shells, the greatest advantage of the through diamond slot roller shell is its excellent anti-slip capability and uniform die surface pressure distribution. The diamond-shaped groove array creates a continuously changing contact surface as the roller rotates, effectively preventing material accumulation or lateral escape within the compression zone, while reducing the risk of localized overloading on the ring die surface. This design is particularly well-suited for high-capacity, high-compression-ratio pelleting operations.

Selection guidelines: The dimensions of the diamond slots (side length, depth, included angle) should be customized according to material characteristics. Coarse fibrous materials typically require large diamond slots (side length 8-12mm, depth 3-5mm), while powdery or fine materials require small diamond slots (side length 4-6mm, depth 1.5-2.5mm). High-toughness alloy steel with cryogenic treatment is recommended to resist stress concentration and fatigue cracking at the diamond-shaped sharp corners. Maintenance focus includes regular inspection for micro-cracks at groove bottoms and plastic edge curling at diamond tips.
